Youth Activities

We have an active youth ministry at Calvary. It is our goal to have at least two youth activities per month. Some of our activities provide an opportunity to have some fun and fellowship, though always with the goal of reaching out to other youth with the gospel. Other activities are designed to be service activities, training our youth see the goodness of the Lord in areas of service. We always have a hearty singspiration time along with a challenging message from the Word at our activities. Check out the calendar for future youth activities.

Missions Trip

For one week in June, we have a youth missions trip. We do not go on a missions trip to observe, but to serve. Since 1989 our youth have served at an inner city rescue mission in Richmond, Virginia. Over the years the youth have not only developed a reputation for hard and productive work, but they have also ministered effectively in musical programs at the local Baptist Church. Whatever blessing the energy and ministry of our youth have provided the mission, they have received multiplied in return as they have witnessed souls saved from destruction and then over time seen them become productive participants in the ministry of the mission and local church.

Camp Calvary

One week every July we offer a summer youth camp. Our summer camp is actually two camps in one. Even though Elementary Camp and High School Camp occur on the same week and at the same location in rural Lancaster County, PA., the camps each have their own separate schedules, activities, chapels, and other events. Camp Calvary is predominately staffed by competent adult members from our church who sacrifice a week of their vacation to serve the Lord in this vital ministry. We have a rich heritage of experienced counselors working with campers who know each other personally. The spiritual impact of this dynamic ministry is significant, especially over the progression of many years of camp. Camp Calvary is truly one of the highlights of our annual church calendar.

Winter Retreat

One long weekend in January every winter our high school youth get away to rural Lancaster County, PA, for a Winter Retreat at the same facility we use for summer youth camp. This provides a wonderful time to focus on the Word of God as well as having great fun indoors and outdoors. With winter as a backdrop and a fire in the fireplace, the camp is transformed from its summer camp greenery. Together we have wonderful times of personal devotions, Bible studies, and preaching—always with a hearty singspiration and testimony time accompanying them.
